VSCode is not that fast as almost everyone tends to imply. Working with a lot of extensions tends to slow down the editor quite a lot! Even on a powerful workstation, the editor itself loads fairly quickly but the extensions takes a lot of time to load up entirely.

I don’t know how and where people measure performance but VSCode is not faster that any jetbrains IDEs I have used. I use both on a regular basis and loading up projects almost takes equal effort and time on both sides. I have not tried fleet yet so I’ll reserve my judgment on that end but when it comes to VSCode vs other JB IDEs, both are equally fast enough!
