Coding is not just a skill, it’s a passion. It’s a way of expressing yourself, solving problems, and creating value. But how do you become a successful coder? How do you master the art and science of programming?

This blog post reveals a simple and effective blueprint that can help you become a better programmer. It is inspired by the story of a young coder who achieved amazing results in her coding journey. By following this blueprint, which also incorporates my own learnings and experience over the years, you can reach your coding goals regardless of your age, background, or experience level. If you are interested, you can find this video on TalkPython’s YouTube channel.

Open-Source Immersion: How to Learn from the Best and Contribute to the Community

The first step in the blueprint is to immerse yourself in the open-source world. Open-source is a term that refers to software that is freely available and can be modified by anyone.

You can join an open-source project that interests you and matches your skill level. Find a mentor who can guide you through the project and teach you the best practices and conventions of coding. The mentor can also give you specific feedback on your code, pointing out the strengths and weaknesses, and suggesting improvements.
